Seagrass Gallery at the Camano Plaza is proud to present an exhibit of outstanding large-format floral paintings by Candi Martin Baker. Candi is a diverse artist who paints in many media including acrylic, oil, tempera, pastel, and watercolor. She was introduced to art at an early age by her father, Royden Martin, who was a Listed Artist from Carmel, California. She has spent a lifetime studying architectural rendering, mechanical drawing and figure drawing. Her current full sheet series, "Last Light," is a dynamic watercolor series of large florals loaded with details in a close up and personal visit with the subject. They are so full of life one almost expects them to move in the breeze and fill the air with a delicate scent.

As a member of the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild, Candi received multiple accolades at the 5th Annual Spring Art Show in 2007. Her submission was chosen by her fellow Guild members for the 2007 event poster, she was awarded both a First Place and an Honorable Mention in the watercolor competition, and she was honored to receive the People's Choice Award from patrons who attended this show.
