Melanie Serroels

Melanie combines her passion for the Pacific Northwest and her artistic skills to create “delightfully delicate” views of the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Trained and encouraged by well known watercolorist Charles Mulvey, Melanie has captured the essence of the Pacific Northwest using watercolors for over 30 years. A Northwest native, Melanie lives on Camano Island in Washington State.

"Living in the Pacific Northwest is a blessing to me. As a watercolorist, I find inspiration constantly; no matter where I am, or what I’m doing. That keeps me motivated to paint, and that helps me to learn and grow as an artist."
  - Melanie Serroels

From her studio, the beautiful vistas of the Cascade Mountains and Puget Sound find their way into her artwork. Whether a breathtaking cloud formation atop Mt. Baker; a beach awash with the reflected light; or a rain storm dancing across the sky; Melanie paints these daily elements of nature to capture the spirit of the Northwest in her art.

Melanie is an active member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Camano Arts Association, and the Stanwood Camano Arts Guild. An avid volunteer in her community, Melanie supports numerous community and children’s organizations, in King, Snohomish, and Island counties, through donations of her original artwork.

Melanie's artwork (shown below) was chosen by Camano Island's Port Susan Snow Goose Festival for their 2008 poster.
