Big Quack Records Big Quack Records is Seagrass Gallery photographer Mark Dodge's "home brew" record label.
One Ton of Ducks comprises five seasoned musicians from Camano Island, WA performing tight, heartfelt original rock and roots music. Songs about life, love, loss, war, peace, and hope. The CD Floaters was released in September 2008.
Here on Island Time is a collection of tunes recorded 'live' in the studio to capture the sound and energy of the live performances of this eclectic band. Here is what The Stanwood-Camano News had to say about it:
This CD includes just a few of Tim's 500+ original compositions, plus two cover tunes - one by soprano sax legend Wayne Shorter, and one from Pat Metheny. All songs recorded by Tim with Aeden Hunter on bass, Kevin Miller on keyboards, and Mark Dodge on guitar and drums. Tim has written beautiful tunes with tasteful lyricism and memorable themes, and displays formidable jazz chops. Tim was born and raised in Stanwood, Washington, and studied at the UNLV Fine Arts Jazz department. The original songs of Steve Harris are contagious. Steve's fluid acoustic guitar style has been influenced and blended by years of playing professionally in folk, bluegrass and Celtic bands in a variety of venues. Mark Dodge contributed to the songwriting, and added guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and tenor ukulele. Several songs on the record also feature the saxophone virtuosity of Big Quack Records' artist Tim Miller, as well as the pure sweet harmony vocals of the South End String Band's Wende Hilyard.
Giza This Stanwood/Camano band - singer/songwriter Roger Ludwick, drummer Kevin Miller, and guitar, bass and keyboardist Mark Dodge - created a record of emotional, melodic, somewhat trippy songs.
Bob Christensen is a singer/songwriter with a voice like an old comfortable shoe, and an entertainer who makes everyone feel right at home. Bob's new record is a collection of great songs written by Bob and Mark and seven other songwriters with a gift for storytelling.
