Jeanine
BorreeJeanine Borree reclaims
boxes, windows, and other wooden objects to explore relationships and
events. Her art challenges the assumptions we
make about painting and functional home
furnishings.
She
breathes spirit into shapes of evocative storytelling, where form, color,
and design are integral and systemic.

"Painting two dimensional paintings on three dimensional wooden
furniture has taught me a lot about composition, since it forces me (and
the observer) to look beyond the subject matter of the painting and
focus on shapes, color and composition." - Jeanine Borree

Oil on Wood by Jeanine Borree
Jeanine currently paints
with oils on primitive w
ooden
cabinets, boxes, etc.
She
enjoys the entire process--from discovery through woodworking to painting.
She completes a painting on the exterior and another on the interior.
As a child, she was intrigued by boxes with
secret
drawers.
Now, she smiles as she realizes that the interior painting is the
"hidden
drawer" with a secret that completes or contrasts with the concept shown
on the exterior.
